While in law school, Brian spent 3½ years as a law clerk with Cooney & Conway, a prominent asbestos litigation firm. During this time, Brian was fortunate to work under the guidance of a former President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association on several complex cases, including on a $20MM+ toxic tort workplace exposure case, Erwin v. Motorola, Inc., 945 N.E.2d 1153 (2011). Prior to forming Spencer Law Offices, P.C., Brian spent 3½ years as an associate with the Whiting Law Group, Ltd.
Brian now concentrates his practice on cases arising out of injuries sustained as a result of motor vehicle collisions, premises liability and medical malpractice.
Brian believes that the keys to success are intelligence, hard work and integrity, and dedicates his life to the pursuit of each. Brian takes pride in his blue collar roots: his first real job at age 14 was cleaning up after butchers, and his first job out of college was in a factory working alongside monolingual Spanish speakers. Brian brings this background to the law: serving the legal needs of society’s victims, people facing medical bills in the tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars, a long term inability to support themselves, and lives altered by constant pain and disability.
Brian remains an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Brian recently authored a chapter on Nursing Home Negligence in the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education's publication Illinois Causes of Action: Tort Actions (IICLE®, 2014).
